Our family grew by 2 this summer! It is hard to express the feelings that come over you when you watch you son take a bride, 

when you give your daughter to a man.

so much joy

so much sadness

I WANT A DO OVER

I am happy for them

I am sad for me

the littles have had so many losses in their lives and this was a hard transition for them. Emma is a Lukies girl, Lily and Ellie consider Abby their very best friend. sharing them is hard.

We LOVE our new family members. Madey is the perfect fit for our creative, passionate son and Josh cares for Abby so very well. We are truly VERY blessed.

BUT IT IS HARD

it is hard to get used to a new normal. 

it is hard to share them with another family

BUT IT IS GOOD

Good to see them grow

good to see them thrive

good to watch them love well

good to see their faith become their own

good to watch them do well at work.

AND SO OUR JOURNEY CONTINUES. 

not to China again, but into a new normal of adult kids and in-laws and looking forward to vacations and phone calls. getting used to the "micro family" when we are used to our home bursting at the seams. raising kids is my life. It is what I give the best part of me to.
